Prisoners
Released on December 7th, 2022, Prisoners marked a definitive turning point—the transition from creating music in isolation to formally launching an artistic career. Serving as the lead single from this initial era, the track established both a visual identity and a sonic blueprint for everything that followed.
The production originated in the studio around a central drum pattern brought in by collaborator Emilio Pombo. From those initial beats and keyboard chords, the arrangement was built from the ground up, merging organic instrumentation with electronic textures and synth layers. The process became an exercise in vocal discovery, translating raw home demos into a fully realized studio sound designed for high-energy live performances and show closers.
Lyrically, Prisoners reflects on the weight of memory and broken promises. Moving forward is not portrayed as erasing the past, but as facing it directly. Lines like "Come now, break my heart" serve as a statement of resilience—an acceptance of emotional scars and unresolved history while maintaining an unyielding momentum.
Tied closely to the single's release is the symbolism of the sunflower. Inspired by the idea of turning inward to face one another when light is scarce, the emblem represents standing ground amid chaos. Beyond its sonic scope—building steadily toward an explosive final crescendo—Prisoners remains an essential chapter and a personal declaration of intent.
